Break free from strongholds that are holding you back from living your purpose

Many of us are going through life feeling emotionally desolate because we are tired of living unfulfilled lives. Some feel like they are just sailing with the wind and have lost the burning fire from within because they are busy living someone else’s dream instead of making decisions to follow their heart and live their purpose. Some of us have been so busy trying to please everyone else around us that we have lost sight of who we really are or have never taken time to even figure out who we are or what is God’s will for our lives.

If we are to succeed in our lives, be victorious, fruitful and multiply as God intended for us in Genesis 1 v 22, we need to have courage and be disciplined enough to shut ourselves away from the external distractions which often find their way into our subconscious mind and cause us to undermine or abandon our purpose. We have to be true to ourselves with no fear of judgement from others and not allowing our fears, anxieties or insecurities to be a hinderance to being our authentic selves. God created us in his image with a plan to prosper us all, and he has given us our own unique gifts to use to make the world a better place and live fulfilled lives as the Word of God repeatedly tells us all throughout the Bible

We can sometimes be set back by our emotions, filled with so much fear which is mostly in our minds as a result of some previous bad experiences with people. These emotions have a tendency to influence our behaviour and this will have a negative impact of hopelessness or depression caused by living unfulfilled lives. It’s essential that we continuously renew our thoughts and replace them with more positive thoughts daily through meditating on scripture or reading books which enhance our knowledge in order to create new positive habits and to stay fuelled and motivated. As for me I tend to meditate on the Word of God and believe what it says about me. Even when I sometimes encounter a negative situation, I always end up saying something positive to shame the devil, who is the father of all lies. Some of my favourite words are “I am…., I can….., I will…… It shall be well”. I can tell you these words can produce miracles. We need to change our thoughts because they will manifest outwardly in words which carry a lot of power, even life or death. Therefore, I urge you all my folks to speak life into your future, goals and dreams regardless of your current circumstances. Persevere, persist, and you will see a turnaround, things will eventually work together for good.

One of my favourite verses in the Bible (Philippians 4:8), encourages us to meditate on “Whatever is true, honourable, right, pure, lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute, if there is any excellence, anything worthy of praise, centre your mind these things”.

Some of us are where we are now as a direct result of the decisions we have made. I know this because I have made many decisions in my life, some good and some bad. I have learned from the bad decisions, some have had negative or positive consequences, the key is I continually take time to stop and take stock of my life to review and make different decisions based on varying circumstances and seasons that I find myself in. Always remember that whenever you say yes to something you are instantly saying no to something else. Therefore, it is important to weigh up the decisions we make in our lives and take time to review them periodically. If you don’t change your life by pursuing your unique gift and living your authentic self, you will end up watching everyone else living your goals and ideas because they dared to take the first steps.
